the moon has always influenced me 

the past few months my paintings have been created 

during the full moon

and the blue moon

i love how the metallic seems to float

my heat gun got a work out

while waiting for the first painting to cool

 i played around on a second canvas

it's been months since i've had a chance to paint

with no inspiration , i had to just sit and see what happens

blue is such a soothing palette and a good place to start 

using the iron and heat gun i sat , just playing around, watching the 

wax move to the heat

it was a good day, three different boards 

not sure if they are finished yet but 

they have inspired to me go a little bigger

my friend kirsten  took an amazing photo of this tree

i love trees in my art

so i asked it i could use it in one of my painting

 a bit of tweeking in photoshop so i could use it as a transfer

below, i added some shellac and then blow torched it

i decided to make 2 paintings and gave one to kirsten for her birthday

i know how difficult this is 

and my hope is to inspire her to brave each new day

no matter what it brings because tomorrow will get a little bit easier

its been awhile since wanted to paint

not sure why, just busy making jewelry and working

a few times i heated up my plates and primed a few boards 

thinking something would spark 

i even painted several red 

with canada day in mind

i finally got a chance to complete one project

the change in weather has reflected on my color palette

after weeks of raking and a little inspiration

I finally got back to a little painting!

I love the smell of wax in the morning!

I love texture and

i love this color

every once in a while I use it

not sure why its not something I have on my hot plate all the time

it must be a mood thing

I will have to pay more attention

one thing I love to do is photographing the horses at my friends farm

this is the first time I've done a transfer of this size

surprisingly it wasn't that difficult , just time consuming

 left "grazing" and right "two sisters"

I had fun playing and seeing what could happen

and the next thing I knew

a series of painting looking a bit like the cosmos

as I prepare for my show this weekend

I found an old painting (below) that I never finished

I decided to work on it some more

rubbing on reds and brown

using a heat gun to melt and blend

it started to look like the fires burning in fort mcmurray

a little more wax and gold paint finished it off
