encaustic

a little experimenting
first with color, blue and yellow are always a soothing combo for me
the red came when I realize I needed a "punch"
second with texture, using a plastic mesh from a wine bottle , drips and slotted brush

wire and pearl necklace

sometimes a simple idea , multiplied , can make something beautiful
all it took was some inspiration at the john bead outlet store
(vintage pearls on sale)
some 26 gauge wire and a crochet hook
creating  over 30 strands measuring 12-15 inches in length
all together i'm happy with the finished necklace

also found at the outlet (below)
pre- knotted pearls  (only .75 cents each) with metal crimps on each end
in a few minutes , using a metal choker and pliers,
I finished this necklace and matching earrings for under $10

photo transfer with powerprint

gearing up for my classes tomorrow at c2c
I decided to make a few extra samples
 inspired by tracy evans
I found several photos I wanted to use
working with powertex and stoneart I created this wonderful base
transferring the photo is made easy with powerprint
a little more stoneart on the bottom right and a few crochet dollies in the other
and a finished canvas in just an hour

above , close-ups of the great textured created
below , since I was on a roll i created a second project using styrofoam as my base

encaustic

inspired by my last paintings color scheme
and the effects of the full moon
I started out with swirls and drips
adding layers of wax and oil paint
some silver leaf to finish it off
